Kavli Ltd in Gateshead
The first UK factory was opened in 1936 near to Newcastle-upon-Tyne on the North East coast of England under the leadership of Knut Kavli. As business grew, the factory expanded and in 1961 moved to a purpose built site on the on the Team Valley in Gateshead, one of the first industrial estates to be created in Europe. Over the years the site has been further expanded and modernised creating a facility that is approved to the stringent BRC quality standards for food hygiene and manufacture. Cheese spread, cheese snacks and dips are made here and the site acts as as the commercial and administration centre for the UK as well as being a logistics hub for all UK retailer distribution.
Castle MacLellan Foods Ltd in Kirkcudbright
Castle MacLellan Foods was established in 1983 and was acquired by Kavli in 1997. It has a tradition of excellence and a reputation as the pâté category expert. The company offers a range of meat, fish and vegetarian pâtés which are available in a number of formats including individual tubs, slices and delicatessen packs. It is our attention to detail and the sourcing of authentic Scottish ingredients which has enabled us to create the finest recipes and to develop into one of the leading pâté manufacturers in the UK.
